For every towel purchased, 2lbs of trash is collected from polluted beaches and rivers. The bamboo come from sustainable farms, using far less water than cotton. And they’re great to use, absorbing 3 times more water than normal microfibre towels.Pangea is a fast-spreading movement which aims to clean up the world! In the last 2 years, its 40 cleanup projects have collected 37,000lbs of trash. As well as these projects it sets up river barriers, to prevent plastic and other waste from entering the oceans in the first place.Projects are mostly in developing countries, but not entirely; recently, a Pangea team in the UK cleaned up 628lbs of trash from Redcliff Wharf, Bristol.Pangea’s towels are a model of sustainability, made from bamboo, which captures C02 and releases oxygen; they’re compostable, and the funds generated help to clean up trash, involving volunteers and local communities.
